Hello! My name is Laurie and I'm a half Japanese/Chinese Asian American. Thank you so much for visiting Chiisai Leaf (a combination of Japanese, “tiny” and English, “leaf”). Having grown up largely in desert climates, I’ve always wished that flowers and foliage would last just a bit longer. Delicate petals and fresh buds seemed to last hours rather than weeks, and their quick wilting always left me with a sense of empty longing.
Chiisai Leaf was born from my desire to slow time and let, “Nature’s first green” last forever. Seasons may be fleeting, but Chiisai Leaf pieces will bloom always, letting you wear nature close to your heart.
Each piece is one of a kind, nature inspired, and made with special attention to details. Imagined by a feeling, season, or plant, each piece is carefully designed to translate a little bit of the natural world into your daily life.
"Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost
Please treat your wearable art delicately. Although each piece has been made with stability in mind, please remember that the nature of each petal is delicate and thin. Use caution with particularly thin petals and stamen as they may be bent out of place if handled carelessly. Some parts and closures are extremely tiny (0.5 - 2mm), and therefore prone to breakage with pulling or strong force.
Do not wear pieces while swimming or showering. Chlorine and shower goods may damage the resin and metals, particularly gold plated and silver items.
Jewelry should only be worn after washing, applying makeup, hair spray, gels, lotions, or perfumes. Avoid using chemicals, solvents, jewelry cleaners, or aerosol products near the earrings as the chemicals may cause clouding on the resin, or cause the plating to wear off.
Store pieces out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperatures. Keep in a clean and dry place. Tarnish can be slowed by storing jewelry with anti-tarnish strips and/or oxygen absorbing packets or silica packets. Prolonged sun exposure will cause colors to fade, including some metals.
To clean the hardware (metal parts) on your jewelry, dip a cotton swab in isopropyl/rubbing alcohol and gently wipe the piece. For the hardware only, a soft damp towel or cotton swap dipped in dilute, mild dish soap/water may be used. Do not use soap/water on resin parts. Silver hardware may be gently polished to remove tarnish, but take care not to polish any resin or stones as silver polishing cloths often contain mild abrasives.
Most metals will naturally tarnish over time - particularly gold plated jewelry and sterling silver. Please keep in mind that some plating may fade after a year of regular wear and proper care, but results vary depending on the individual items and the manufacturing processes. To extend the life of your jewelry and avoid tarnish for as long as possible, wipe down the hardware with an isopropyl dipped cotton swab/ball/cloth and dry after each ware. Storing pieces in a plastic bag with anti-tarnish strips or silica packets will help slow tarnish and prolong the life of your jewerly.
If you receive the incorrect piece, or in the event that the hardware on your piece breaks, tarnishes, or contains a defect, please reach out within 30 days with accompanying photos of the pieces. I'm always happy to help and we can work out a solution together. If you purchased a gold plated piece and the ear wire has tarnished from frequent wear, it may be possible to upgrade or replace the wire.

Yes! I am happy to gift wrap your piece! It brings me a lot of joy knowing that you've liked the piece enough to gift it to somebody special, so I am happy to wrap the item(s) at no extra charge :)
Gifts will be placed in their usual custom box, then wrapped with additional eggshell wrapping paper, tied with ribbon, and finally sealed with a metallic gold wax seal. Also, each gift comes with a handmade blank card, handmade envelope, and extra stickers to seal the envelope.
I do, indeedy! Each flower and leaf on the packaging is from a stamp that I've carved and inked by hand. This includes the interior tissue, cards, and envelopes. I also draw and make each of the stickers at home, including the metallic ones.
